Please note: To continue offering high-quality programming and to ensure the sustainability of our chapter, we are now implementing a $10 fee for non-members to attend networking events including our Special Interest Group events.
Are you passionate about advancing DEIB in your work?
Whether you’re a talent development professional seeking to embed DEIB into your initiatives or a DEIB practitioner looking for peer support, ATD Cascadia invites you to join our DEIB Special Interest Group (SIG)!
Join us on Zoom the last Thursday of the month between 12:00 and 1:00 pm PST.
During our September 25th meeting, our discussion will focus on:
“How Did We Get Here? The Rise, Fall, & Re‑Rise of the Anti‑Trans Movement—and What L&D Pros Need to Know”
In this 60‑minute interactive session, transgender facilitator Trystan Reese will share critical insights into the anti‑trans movement, including why it started, how it's evolved, and why it matters now in L&D spaces.
Participants will learn to:
Trace the historical trajectory: from early bathroom bills to a resurgence after the legalization of gay marriage, we'll look at the ways anti-trans movements have jumped from the UK to the US (and back).
Spot workplace effects: identify anti‑trans messaging that may appear in training content, peer discussions, or leadership discourse.
ATD Cascadia members have access to our DEIB SIG Slack Channel. Email administrator@tdcascadia.org if you would like to be included in the discussion and resources shared there.
